Mystery Symptoms? (See List) It Could Be Leaky Gut

Mystery Symptoms? (See List)  It Could Be Leaky Gut

It's probably safe to say that you don't leave your doors and windows
wide open 24 hrs a day, correct?

Of course not, silly Sherry.
Doing so would let OUT the things you want to keep IN--like heat, pets and small children.
And at the same time you'd be letting IN undesirable things like insects, rain, snow, dust and possibly a burglar!
Well, I have news for you...
Something as potentially dangerous may be going on inside YOU right now.
It's a phenomenon called leaky gut syndrome.
Let's take a quick look at what your gut's SUPPOSED to look like...and how it can turn into an ugly monster that wreaks absolute havoc with your health.
The sentinel--your small intestine
Your small intestine is truly your body's "sentinel."
When it's working properly, it carefully scrutinizes every single tiny particle passing through your intestinal tract and decides its fate.
When it detects properly digested fats, proteins and starches, it "opens the door," allowing those nutrients to seep out, get absorbed into your bloodstream and be assimilated by your body for energy and cell growth.
On the other hand, when it senses the presence of "danger"--like harmful bacteria, viruses, toxins and poorly digested food molecules--it "shuts down" its passageways and "traps" those enemies.
This prevents the dangerous substance from getting into your bloodstream and making you sick. Instead, your "sentinel" keeps it contained until it can safely be eliminated with a bowel movement.

Leaky gut -- the sentinel is sleeping on the job
Leaky gut syndrome is basically when your intestinal wall becomes damaged and too porous.
When this happens, dangerous things that shouldn't be allowed to pass into your bloodstream bully their way through past the sentinel.
Once the harmful substances get into your bloodstream, heaven help you. Since your blood vessels go EVERYwhere in your body, so can the toxins, and therefore they can cause a wide variety of problems from head to toe.
Here are some examples of this:
When poorly digested food molecules seep into your bloodstream, that sounds the alarm for your immune system to launch an attack because the molecules are seen not as food but as an invader.
This is how food sensitivities are created.
And when dangerous bacteria seep into your bloodstream they can "set up residence" in any tissue, bone or organ in your body and cause inflammation and pain. This is called "bacterial translocation."
For instance, Blastocystis hominis, a harmful bacteria that causes GI problems, has been found in the knees of arthritis patients!

But wait!  There's more
Because toxins are allowed into your bloodstream when they shouldn't be, leaky gut also puts a tremendous strain on your liver--your organ of detox.
If your liver is bombarded with toxins and inflammatory agents to filter out of your bloodstream, it gets overloaded and begins storing the toxins in your fat cells--much like the way you put boxes of stuff in your garage, cellar or closet to deal with at a later time.
If your liver has time later, it can deal with the stored toxins; however, with leaky gut, there's a consistent barrage of newly arriving toxins, so your liver never gets a chance to catch up.
So it's no wonder that leaky gut is associated with liver diseases like cirrhosis.

Hang on to your hat
In addition to taxing your liver, here is a list of conditions that are commonly associated with leaky gut:
Acne
Alcoholism
Ankylosing spondylitis
Arthritis
Autism
Celiac disease
Chronic fatigue syndrome
Crohn's disease
Cystic fibrosis
Eczema
Food allergies and sensitivities
Hives
Intestinal infections
IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)
Malnutrition
Pancreatic insufficiency
Psoriasis
Schizophrenia
Ulcerative colitis

Plus, here is a list of common symptoms of leaky gut:
Abdominal pain
Anxiety; nervousness
Asthma
Bloating; gas
Chronic joint or muscle pain
Confusion; fuzzy thinking; poor memory
Constipation
Diarrhea
Fatigue
Fevers
Low immune function
Mood swings
Recurrent infections
Shortness of breath

If you find yourself suffering from one or more of the above symptoms and you and your doctor haven't been able to pinpoint any definitive cause, chances are good leaky gut is affecting you.

Why is leaky gut so common?
It's easy to see why leaky gut is becoming more and more common.
It has several causes including chronic stress, environmental contaminants, gastrointestinal disease, excessive alcohol intake, exposure to bacteria, parasites and yeast, and prolonged use of NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), steroids, birth control pills or antibiotics.
But far and away, the biggest cause is DIET.
The role of your diet in the development of leaky gut is actually a triple whammy:
Whammy #1- Gut flora
First of all, many people eat loads of refined carbs and drink soda by the gallon, both of which cause a sugar avalanche in your body. This sugar is food for the harmful bacteria in your gut, so they are nourished while your friendly protective flora is starved.
The harmful bacteria are then free to "eat away" at your intestinal lining.
Whammy #2- Poor digestion
The typical diet of fast or processed food that most people have is extremely difficult for your system to break down.
As a result, your intestines are flooded with too-large food molecules that are bumping up against the wall of your small intestine, trying to bully their way through.
Whammy #3- Low fiber
Our average diets are also severely lacking in fiber, which increases your bowel transit time -- meaning the time it take for food to go from "Ur-mouth to Ur-anus."
With wastes hanging around too long in your intestinal tract, the harmful bacteria in them can flourish and weaken and irritate your gut wall.

Seal it up--and keep that sentinel on the job
As you can see, the health of your gut goes WAAAY beyond just preventing gas and having normal bowel movements!
Having a nice, strong gut wall can help keep your "sentinel on the job" and help you make tremendous strides toward preventing a variety of sickness and inflammation from head to toe.
And the good news is that helping to strengthen your gut wall and make it less porous is not difficult at all!
It just involves two simple steps:
1) Structure your meals so that your body can easily break them down like it should.
The Great Taste No Pain health system will teach you exactly how to do this.
The Great Taste No Pain manuals will show you the few easy food-pairing principles you'll need to know to make all your meals a breeze to digest, and give you suggestions to plan meals around all of your favorite foods--including meats, poultry, fish, pastas, grains and more.
Better digestion means food particles that are "just the right size" when they pass through your intestinal wall.
It also means more regular BMs and a more healthy bowel transit time--and less chance for harmful bacteria to fester.
Note: If you have Celiac disease or are gluten sensitive, Great Taste No Gluten is for you instead.

2) Ensure your intestinal flora are properly balanced.
The friendly bacteria in your system help to keep the gut wall non-porous, as well as assisting with digestion and keeping harmful bacteria under control.
The ideal flora balance is having at least 85% beneficial bacteria and no more than 15% harmful.
The problem is most people have the complete OPPOSITE of what they should have. This is not only due to poor digestion, but also environmental toxins, medications, stress and lack of sleep.
So it's essential to give your gut a helping hand with a medical-grade probiotic supplement like Super Shield multi-strain probiotic formula.
Super Shield contains strong, effective strains of 13 friendly bacteria that are robust and ready to take their place in your system. They'll help fend off the bad guys, keep your digestion smooth, beef up your immune system and help make your gut wall nice and strong.

Your intestinal wall is truly your body's protective sentinel.
As you saw above, an unhealthy, leaky gut can literally make you sick from head to toe.
Make sure your sentinel is strong, healthy and always on duty to help YOU fend off sickness and disease.
To your health,
Sherry Brescia

PPS: Marilynn said goodbye to IBS!
Sherry,
I had been diagnosed with IBS in the 1970's. I was given medication for it. Through the years, I have had to take laxatives. Back in those days, you did not have internet and could not find any help.
Back in 2007, I went for tests and was diagnosed with GERD and given the purple pill. I was also told again I had IBS for which the doctor wrote a prescription for daily GI cocktail.
After taking this medication for a while, I knew there had to be a better answer than a doctor pushing pills down my throat.
I was on the internet that day and found your Great Taste, No Pain plan and ordered it. I received it and could not believe how I was eating incorrectly and combining my food wrong.
No wonder so many people have digestive problems!
It took several weeks for my body to readjust itself before I got better. I have been on your plan so long now; I do not have to look at the book very much. I have it memorized.
I love your recipe book. My favorite is Sherry's Outrageous Spaghetti Sauce. I love it. I half it, and put the rest in different containers to eat another time.
I thank the Lord I found your website. I wish more people could find about you and how to combine foods.
Thank you so much for doing research and showing people how to combine foods together. It makes all the difference in the world.
Marilynn
